    For those with a really sweet tooth!

    Ingredients:

    1/4 cup butter
    1 cup light brown sugar thats packed
    1 egg
    3/4 cup flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1/2 cup pecans thats chopped (optional)


    Directions:

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Have ready a well-greased and floured 8x8x2in square baking pan.

    Melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and blend in brown sugar. Cool. Stir in egg.

    Sift together and stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in vanilla and pecans.

    Spread in prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven for about 25 minutes, until a light touch with finger leaves a slight imprint. Do not overbake.

    Cut into bars while warm. Recipe makes 18 bars measuring 2 1/2x 1inch

    Note: Bars will keep soft and moist if stord in a tightly covered jar.
